PKF Francis Clark

The largest independent firm of chartered accountants in the SW

What we do:

Our main services are accounting, auditing, tax, corporate finance, business recovery, payroll and VAT.  Areas of expertise include agriculture, solicitors, medical, leisure & tourism, charities and education.  We also have a separate financial planning company.  Our jobs are predominantly desk-based, so it is important that we encourage people to be active both during work and in their own time.

Why we became a healthy workplace:

We have undertaken healthy activities for many years but 2 years ago we launched a Health & Wellbeing programme across the firm.  With the results of a staff survey, we trained Health & Wellbeing Champions in each office who have gone on to launch many initiatives in their offices and across locations.  We also set-up a designated H&W area on our intranet.

Recent health and well being activities:

Employee Feedback

“I think the range of added extras Coastline offers its employees, from corporate gym memberships, to flu jabs, to confidential counselling services, is fantastic. If I didn’t already work here, I’d want to!” – Cheryl Houghton, Communications Advisor

Health, wellbeing and productivity in the workplace

In the United Kingdom during 2013–2014 an estimated 1.2 million people who worked during the last
year were suffering from an illness (long-standing as well as new cases) they believed was caused or made worse by their current or past work. Half a million of these appear to be new conditions which started during the year.
