PKF Francis Clark

The largest independent firm of chartered accountants in the SW

What we do:

Our main services are accounting, auditing, tax, corporate finance, business recovery, payroll and VAT.  Areas of expertise include agriculture, solicitors, medical, leisure & tourism, charities and education.  We also have a separate financial planning company.  Our jobs are predominantly desk-based, so it is important that we encourage people to be active both during work and in their own time.

Why we became a healthy workplace:

We have undertaken healthy activities for many years but 2 years ago we launched a Health & Wellbeing programme across the firm.  With the results of a staff survey, we trained Health & Wellbeing Champions in each office who have gone on to launch many initiatives in their offices and across locations.  We also set-up a designated H&W area on our intranet.

Low Back Pain

LBP appears in all age groups, however is most prevalent in working age, followed by retired and then the under20s. A Large portion of LBP cases will have pain for over 12 months and be out of work for over 6 months. This has a huge strain on employer, Governemnt and NHS costs
