Richard Lander School

A large 11-16 comprehensive school in Truro, Cornwall.

What we do:

We teach more than 1400 students a balanced curriculum culminating in GCSE exams in Year 11.

Why we became a healthy workplace:

A large staff body, excellent facilities, a link between health and wellbeing and productivity and a desire to improve and quantify all the good work already in place.

Recent health and well being activities:

Mindfulness staff training. Healthy Breakfasts during staff training days. Staff yoga on Wednesday evenings. Staff cycling on Tues and Thurs evenings. Access to a fully quipped fitness suite. Free NHS medical health checks. The production of a YouTube library of 15 minute workouts. Badminton on Weds and Fri evenings. Emailed links to skin safety and wellbeing.

In achieving the Workplace Health award we have highlighted the excellent work we do as a staff body to promote staff health and well being as well as highlight some areas to work towards in the future. J. Bridger. M.Ed.
