Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Health and Wellbeing: employer resources appendix

Date: 17 Oct 2017

This toolkit provides insight and learnings from a range of employers based in Cornwall about safeguarding employee health and wellbeing along with an extensive list of local support resources for all employers in the region.  Topics covered range from mental wellbeing to suicide prevention and musculoskeletal (MSK) health.

This toolkit is an appendix to the existing four, interconnected toolkits created by Business in the Community and Public Health England to help every organisation support both the mental and physical health and wellbeing of its employees.

“We have learned so much through the Cornwall Workplace Health Award Programme already, and are keen that we pass this learning on to our staff.  With many organisations already represented, we were surprised we haven’t got involved sooner as it’s so aligned to our overall ‘Wellbeing Ambition’ that working for the Environment Agency will improve health and wellbeing”

St. Austell Brewery won a gold award on their first year of taking part in the programme. Chrissie Knight, Occupational Health Manager for the brewery, commented, “Caring for and investing in the workforce has always been a priority at the Brewery and it is wonderful to gain recognition for the work that takes place at all levels to ensure that we remain an employer of choice for people in the South West, which is not only because of the opportunities that exist at many levels within the organisation, but also because of the support and benefits that exist for all employees”
