New Cycling for Health Project!

The Health Promotion Service is working with the charity Sustrans to deliver a joint health and wellbeing strategy through a new programme of health rides around Cornwall.  The project will build on the successes of Mobilise! and Pedal Back the Years.  Becky Payne, Project Officer, will be recruiting and training new volunteers to lead rides to encourage people to get active.  Being part of a group ride encourages people to exercise, socialise, explore and build confidence to travel actively.  Cycling is great for physical and mental health, helping the environment, saving money and meeting new people so get on your bike and get involved!

For more information about rides or to have a chat about becoming a volunteer contact Becky Payne rebecca.payne@sustrans.org.uk 07557 755599

Costs

The annual cost of sickness absence and worklessness associated with working-age ill health in the UK is put at more than £100 billion (more than Portugal's GDP).
