Healthy Workplace annual conference 2019

We were delighted to be able to welcome back for the 11th year, Professor Dame Carol Black - Expert Advisor on Health and Work - who in addition to presenting the awards, gave us the national overview and update on Workplace Health.

We ran 4 workshops on;

We heard from 3 workplaces, who shared there best practice;

Following the workshops, we held our official Healthy workplace Award Ceremony, which rewarded and recognised local workplaces in their achievement of the Workplace Health Award via Bronze, Silver, Gold & Mentor awards.

Increased personal awareness of drinking levels is evidenced to reduce heavy drinking rates 

Sickness Absence

Annually the average sickness absence is 3.5% (8 days per employee) and the average cost of absence per employee is estimated at £666.  If you employ 100 people sickness absence is costing your business £66,000 each year.  (CIPD Employee Absence, July 2008).
