Date: 6 Feb 2018

On February 6th the Macmillan Cancer and Work training took place at the Pool Innovation Centre, Redruth.  The Training was delivered by an excellent volunteer ‘Graham Burt’  who himself is living with Cancer.  The feedback received was hugely appreciative as the sessions provided excellent information and a superb toolkit, demonstrating just how much more is provided by this outstanding organisation serving our County’s Community; ‘ Macmillan Cancer Support’  If you would like to organise your own company ‘Macmillan Cancer and Work’ sessions please contact: Katy Swetman on workandcancer@macmillan.org.uk.

Health, wellbeing and productivity in the workplace

In the United Kingdom during 2013–2014 an estimated 1.2 million people who worked during the last
year were suffering from an illness (long-standing as well as new cases) they believed was caused or made worse by their current or past work. Half a million of these appear to be new conditions which started during the year.
