Date: 16 Aug 2018

Cornwall has a high proportion of Small Medium Enterprises (SME’s), therefore the Healthy Workplace programme feel it is important to ensure we can offer a service and support to Micro businesses in Cornwall.

  • 88.6% were micro enterprises (with 1 – 9 staff)
  • 10% were small enterprises
  • and 1.2% medium enterprises

To help us shape this new award, and to ensure we produce a useful, flexible, achievable, supportive and informative resource, we need your help!

Surrounding Influence

Having plants in and around the office can reduce employee annual sickness absence by as much as 23%, research by the Hortiucultural Trades Association has argued.  The research, in conjunction with the University of Reading, found that green space and planted areas can help to deliver substantial social and environmental benefits for organisations

MIND

Mind, a Mental Health Charity, released a report in May 2011 claiming that UK businesses could save £8 billion per year if they managed workplace stress properly.

The survey also found that 41% of workers experience stress, making it more of a concern than personal finances, health and relationships.
