LumiraDx Care Solutions

Innovative care solutions for the management of long-term conditions

What we do:

LumiraDX is a global health technology business based in Camborne, Cornwall delivering coordinated care solutions and unrivalled healthcare diagnostics.

As part of the wider LumiraDx global group, we put accurate results into the hands of care teams and their patients quickly, simply and reliably to guide better informed decisions for better health outcomes, experiences and value.

Why we became a healthy workplace:

The company put staff wellbeing at the heart of its strategic objectives and understand the importance of health in relation to happiness, productivity and engagement.  Our approach to employee health and wellbeing has been established for several years and has always been supported by our Care Solutions Senior Management Team.

Recent health and well being activities:

In July 2017 five staff attended the 3 x day Mental Health First Aid Training run by Health Promotion Cornwall and attained their qualifications.  Following the training the staff presented a communication to all staff at a monthly Team Lunch get together to introduce the group and sign-post them to key resources that the group had put together on SharePoint. The MHFA working group have met on a monthly basis since the training and their names are displayed on the company’s Health and Safety notice board next to our list of physical first aiders.  We have also displayed positive mental health awareness messages and posters in various communal areas and all new starters are made aware of our list of Mental Health First Aiders.

The Senior Management Team also supported the delivery of an Introduction to Mindfulness training by Mindfulness Cornwall which was delivered in June and July 2017.  Feedback was very positive and a small group asked for a workplace practice to be set-up so weekly audio lunchtime sessions have been established with the support of Vici Williams from Mindfulness Cornwall.
In addition to this activity we are still committed to the following wellbeing initiatives for our staff:
* Free fruit, nuts and water/drinks
* Free healthy lunches 3 x per week
* Bi-annual staff surveys
* Walking meetings
* 2 x steppers
* Access to a life coach
* Fit balls
* Standing desks
* Lunchtime dog walking
* Discounted gym membership with Carn Brea Leisure Centre
* Celebrating achievement through WOW moments and Kudos Cards
* Detailed sickness reporting with robust return to work meetings
* DSE assessments for all staff
* Company social events twice a year
* 3 x IOSH Health and Safety staff trained in 2017
